Can you tell that Sunday is probably my favorite day of the week? I feel like I post a lot about what happens on Sundays for us. One of the other reasons that Sunday is my favorite is because it's been the only day of the week that I buy coffee...as in a cup of coffee.
Within the first week or two of arriving in Seoul, some friends of ours who have lived most of their lives in Seoul said that their favorite coffee place is in Haebongchong. Now, considering there is literally a coffee shop about every ten feet in Seoul, that is saying a lot!
Le Cafe is their favorite coffee shop and it just happens to be about a three minute walk from our church. Needless to say, Le Cafe has become my favorite coffee shop, too. I know that I need to get out there and try some others, but it so rare that I buy coffee here that it just hasn't happened. It was a whole lot easier to buy coffee in the States where I had a cup holder in my car. Here, if I buy a cup of coffee and carry my purse, then I only have one hand to hold a kid's hand. That creates a whole lot of problems in a city where not even the sidewalks are safe from traffic. Let's just say, I always need to be ready to run and holding a hot cup of coffee is not conducive to running after a two year old.
Anyway, I love Le Cafe because of its close proximity to church, the fact that he roasts his own beans so it smells amazing in there, and there's always the same guy behind the counter. He speaks just enough English to understand your order and say "thank you" when you leave, he has a punch card, and his prices are pretty reasonable (just under 5,000 W or $5 for a cup of coffee is pretty good in Seoul!). Of course, the coffee is pretty good, too!
Just another reason I love Sundays!

Sounds like a reason to celebrate :) I love that second picture especially--gives a real sense of place. Thanks for sharing this with us at Rub Some Dirt On It!
